Workshop
Description
|
Given
that research has found that firms face challenging systems integration
requirements which are both difficult and costly to design and implement, a
wide range of integration approaches have been developed.
This session explores those solutions from both the technical and
strategic perspectives. The
workshop will begin with a case study of DHL’s eBusiness Group’s integration
efforts. From this case, a
framework for approaches to integration will emerge, including how REA can
guide the process-oriented approach.
The second portion of the course will provide participants with a 2-hour, hands
on activity using Vitria, one of the early leaders in integration platforms
which has a university alliance available to all schools interested.
Finally, the session will wrap up with a discussion of strategic
implications – both for organizations and faculty.
