| INTEGRATING REA IN THE CLASSROOM |

The teaching track for the REA 25 celebration conference will feature several different types of scholarly work. You are encouraged to submit materials that will help further the academic community’s ability to creatively, rigorously, and successfully introduce REA concepts into our classrooms. These materials can take many forms. Similar to other conferences, cases and course materials will be reviewed and the top submissions will be presented during the conference. Additionally, we will be developing a repository of “Master Class” sessions, showcasing actual REA lecture videos. The following discusses each of these types of submissions in more detail: |
Case write ups: Use this opportunity to document your case experiences, ideally leading to submission to Journal of Information Systems. These submissions should include all classroom materials, and a discussion of how to use the case, following the structure of Journal of Information Systems cases. |
Course materials: Submit these materials to share your in class cases, out of class projects, activities, exam problems, etc. in a format that minimizes additional documentation. Include a 1-3 page narrative describing how your materials can be used, and all materials necessary to deliver the activity. |
Master Class Video Submissions: What is your favorite REA topic to teach? What interesting pedagogical activities have you introduced? What creative activities have you developed and delivered? To truly share your work with your colleagues, write a brief description of your class session, submit all materials that support the session, and video an actual class session. These works will be peer reviewed, with the goal of developing an electronic “Master Class” series, similar to those used to help musicians learn from the masters at their craft. Video representations that are most novel and replicable will be produced on a DVD which will be distributed at the conference, and the faculty members will be featured in the teaching track. A larger number of clips will be organized and cataloged on-line, also making them available to the REA community. |
Please submit all materials by April 15, 2007, designating which type of submission you are making (Case, Course Materials, or Master Class). Submit all electronic materials to: julie.smith.david@asu.edu. Two copies of any physical submissions should be mailed to: |
